A message to the Grassroots
My thoughts on
"A Message To The Grassroots"
By Sonny Sandoval
"A message to the grassroots", is a speech made in 1963 by Malcolm X. Its a speech dedicated to the black Americans who were ridiculed and bamboozled by the white folk back then. The speech was spoken in a live rally around 2 days after the speech was written.
The first third of the speech is when he talks about unity in black people, realizing the white common enemy, and how white people never sacrificed anything for black people. I was inspired greatly by how much he meant what he said 'cause of his booming voice and power. And this was just the beginning. It really did open my eyes about all of those topics he spoke of.
The second third of the speech is when he talked about "Nationalism", "Revolution", the difference between a house negro and a field negro, and how white people taught black people to suffer "peacefully". The middle part of the speech, in my opinion, was the pinnacle of the entire speech. It was also the most emotional part for Malcolm X.
The last third was him talking about how every black American should defend themselves when needed, the bribery of some black American rights activists you know today, and how because of the bribe, loads of black people were becoming soft. This part hurt the most. Not only did Martin Luther King and some others been bribed a mil and a half, but they weren't even supposed to be in the rally in the first place.
What I've learned from this speech is that its terrifying to think that even a mixed kid like myself, from back then, would be considered a negro. Also, everyone should have the right to do what ever is necessary to protect you and your family, no matter the race. And finally, DONT TRUST A FAKE NEGRO NOW BOY!!

Movie Review
Judas and the Black Messiah
Write a one page movie review discussing what the movie is about and what your opinion of the movie is in the conclusion of your essay.
Key Points to remember; Fred Hampton's life and death(The black Jesus or the Messiah) and his fiance's legacy. William O’Neal as the Judas (Traitor) and the notoriously sly white FBI Agent. The Black Panther party revolution as it came alive and ended in Chicago, Illinois.
Start here:
Judas and the Black Messiah is a movie directed by Shaka King on February 1 2021. It is a film about the legendary black panther known as Fred Hampton AKA The Black Jesus, and the man who “technically” Killed him known as William O’Neal AKA Traitor, and the man who paid the killer known as the sly white FBI Agent.
To summarize it quickly, The movie is basically all the events that lead to Fred Hampton's death. Whether the illegal guns, the shots leading to an injured cop, the drug money to buy explosives, it all leads to the government hitting back by killing their leader on December 4, 1969 due to a shootout. After the Black Jesus dropped dead, the black panther party quickly fell into pieces. Riots about dirty police, vengeance for Fred Hampton, and chaos were all there was in news headlines. A Lot of time later, the rat known as William O neal says the truth on pbs news. Later that day, when the news aired on live tv, Willam committed suicide.
In conclusion, the movie got a 96/100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes,
And I would give it a 8.5/10. The movie told the truth about a horrific scandal that was caused by a coward rat that should never of happened in the first place.
